Goodbye
I’ve been hit by pure reality
I’ve been waken up abruptly
With words I missed and the words I said
Everything went flying over my head
With every step I carefully made
You pushed me ‘till I lost the game
You changed the rules many a’time
Taking away the ability to run and hide
I shed a tear, you came for more
You lied and cut me to the core
They say the first cut is deep
But with every other I grew more weak
You saw me as the weaker man
A target, not as slippery as sand
I got back up and played it tough
But honestly, I’ve had enough
How much rejection can one person take?
And how many times can a heart truly break?
I just couldn’t win, although I tried
I guess I’ll say thank you, if this is goodbye…
